    • [ – ] danielamann parent reply I'd super love to partner up and do some sort of collaboration. We've got to work something out. Listening @VocoStudios @duffy ;)
  • [ – ] Y2JayDoesAsia reply Probably you should (politely) ask those security people questions along the lines of 1) Do you ticket cars without the perking permit, 2) When do you do it, 3) Why aren't you doing it right now. It might not be as simple as "they are lazy" or "they're not doing thier job". I'm a parking warden myself and the public is only aware of about 25% of what we do, the rest we have to explain to them if they decide to ask. Things I'm talking about, enforcing bus lanes, attending school gates, investigating abandoned vehicles, trailer storage on the road, attending customer complaints, reporting missing or damaged road signs/markings, towing cars away from driveways, the list goes on. But when the public see us they think all we do is write tickets around pay and display machines. Ummm no. Not that simple. So my advice, just ask those guys why those cars aren't being ticketed. There might actually be a reason you don't know about.
    • danielamann parent reply I'm really glad you mentioned this! I am actually a journalism student here at the university and so we had a talk with campo (the name for our department) and were asking about this just to see their side without jumping to conclusions to much. Sounds like in an effort to take some of the parking duty off the main force they rely on a lot of student workers to do the ticket writing throughout the day, but nobody is ever doing it during that particular time, and it really creates a big jam because there is construction and people are parking in lots they should not be. Not really acceptable and they seemed to acknowledge that they weren't keeping up with what they should have been doing. It has been really cold, so I can't exactly blame them for wanting to stay in their cars anyway! I totally didn't mean to come across as if I don't think they do other things -- one of the people I worked with on the grounds crew when I worked there my first two years had come over from security and so...more I spent an entire summer hearing about all the wild things they have to deal with on a daily basis so I definitely respect what they are doing. Thanks for an open perspective! I try to keep that about things as well. I suppose you could say that my vlog happened in the heat of the moment. Take care, and best wishes :)
